Year 11 student Lily demonstrated her passion for singing recently as she took part in the prestigious 2024 ISA Musical Theatre Competition.

The competition, which drew participants from across the country, began with entrants submitting video auditions from the world of musical theatre. Lily’s rendition of ‘One Perfect Moment’ from ‘Bring it On The Musical’ and ‘You Don’t Know this Man’ from the musical ‘Parade’ demonstrated her natural talent for both musical and dramatic skills.

With her live performance at the finals on 1st May, Lily earned First Place in the KS4 category with a unanimous decision from the judge’s panel.

“Wow!, fantastic, beautifully executed, a faultless performance, storytelling was perfect, I really felt she took us on her ‘Parade’ journey. A mature approach to a very hard song. ISA Judge

Lily is a hugely talented pupil, with a great love of performing, particularly in musicals. She recently achieved a distinction in Grade 8 LAMDA, gaining 98/100 marks. Her performance of ‘Truly Scrumptious’ in Cranford School’s production of ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’ was exceptional and worthy of the West End stage. She is a joy to work with and there is no doubt she has a very bright future ahead of her. Head of Music – J Powell

Lily's achievement reflects not only her talent for performing arts but also her ability to consistently combine the best of a strong vocal range with the natural gift for stage presence and genuine storytelling on stage.

Her outstanding performance in the competition serves as a testament to her dedication to music, performance and a mentor for fellow pupils and peers. Dr Raymond, Headmaster

Congratulations Lily!
