The academic potential of this year group has been clear throughout their time at Cranford School and this is reflected in their excellent set of GCSE results.
CONSISTENT EXCELLENCE FOR CRANFORD GCSE PUPILS IN 2024
Cranford is thrilled to be celebrating pupils’ fantastic achievements in a set of outstanding GCSE results that highlight both the school’s continued academic excellence and its focus on providing an opportunity-rich education. With 48% of all grades at 9-7 (equivalent to A*-A), and a value-added score of +1.3, these results demonstrate Cranford’s consistent reputation for academic excellence.
The school is especially proud of the exceptional value-added score of +1.3, indicating that pupils continue to achieve well over a grade above their nationally standardised baseline targets. As a leading co-educational academically non-selective school (3-18), with a strong emphasis on excellence in Sport, Music, and pastoral care that really values each individual student, these results reflect the school's reputation for consistent academic excellence, with an average GCSE Value-Added Score of +1.3 over the last 8 years.
Particular highlights this year include 67% 9-7 across the Humanities (Geography, History and RS) 68% 9-7 in the Arts, including 92% 9-7 in Textiles. Similar success was enjoyed across the school; where in French 67% of all grades were achieved at 9-7, 67% 9-7 in Music and an impressive 55% attaining 9-7 in English.
Year 11 have been an outstanding group of role-models for the whole school, who have led the Senior School with humour, warmth and kindness. They have set an admirable example for their peers in their hard-working and diligent approach to their studies throughout their time at school. We are very proud of each and every student and are looking forward to seeing them go onto achieve great things, as they progress forwards into Sixth Form.
Dr James Raymond, Headmaster
These results follow an exceptional set of A-level results this year (64% A-B and 42% A*/A) with 100% of graduating students heading off to their chosen university underline their impressive dedication to their studies and the Sixth Form teaching team who have supported the students in achieving these impressive results.
We are also delighted that 100% of our graduating A-level students will be heading off to their chosen university.
